Mission Progress

Harnessing the Positive Power of Money

‘Setting a Corporate Example’

Trust has a clear purpose which we also believe to be a core community need. That is to assist couples and individuals to work through the key aspects of ‘life management’ as part of a plan that reflects not just their needs but also their wish to engage with those around them. This is reflected in our core objectives one to three (see ‘Mission’), as well as in all aspects of our operations as a business, including the specific approach we take ourselves to community engagement. On this more information will be provided on future updates.

We are committed now, however, to also actively encouraging ‘Trust thinking’ through developing an online presence and in particular through engaging in the debate concerning business ethics. Our first foray into this territory has come recently in the form of a blogpost which Dan was invited to write for ‘the Relationist’ website. Relational thinking is based on the premise that the components that make up our society only have value in the context of relationships. Take a look at Dan’s post on the Relationist website. Finding Peace with Money — Advice and the Relationist Investor’s Quandary – The Relationist (the-relationist.net)

We are also working to support and ultimately ‘partner’ with likeminded organisations striving to achieve positive societal change. This includes charitable trusts openly committed to encouraging a ‘common good’ and ‘just’ solution to complex societal problems as well as charities focused on the ground addressing poverty and deprivation in sustainable and creative ways, both at home and abroad. Recently we have begun engaging with two separate charities very much in this sector whose work is centred in Central and East Africa. We hope moving forward, with the permission of these ‘partners’, to be able to post information about the work that these charities are doing. We are, however, free to discuss their work, why we support them, and why we would encourage Life Plan clients to support them as a key component of their Life Plan, with anyone who enquires.

Finally, we are working on a specific ‘Trust Partner’ proposition that will enable us to build these connections with like-minded organisations into a network of corporate entities openly committed to working in concert for the ‘common good’. ‘Trust Partners’, however, will also be individuals overtly committed to the same goal. Trust Partners, we believe, will become a huge resource for Trust, a body of ‘believers’ supported by Trust and supporting Trust, as well as a ready source of solid workers, clients and investors. Within the ‘Trust Partner’ model will also be a subscription element, providing Trust with an additional, regular and reliable source of revenue long term. There is much work to be done on this yet, however, as well as regulatory challenges to be overcome. On this more information will be provided on future updates.
